Well, I am sure everyone saw that trysicl updated her profile to say that I got boned at the races saturday.... In the main event, the action was really tight and all of us running up front were either side by side or bumper to bumper. Any little mistake was going to open the door for some great passing or for a crash involving multiple cars. Well, it happened. While I was trying to pass 2 cars on the inside, the car in front started to spin and the car in front of me turned exactly the same way I did to try and avoid him and we all sandwiched together in a pretty hard impact. We all came to a stop but I had already pulled the clutch in and was able to keep my car running so, as we stopped moving, I instantly tried to pull out of the wreckage so I was not charged with being part of the yellow that was sure to come out. I was able to pull away pretty fast (but still have not seen the video to see if I pulled away before the yellow came out). Here's where it gets bad. As I got back out on the track and went around, I could see that the impact with the car in front of me put a hole in the door panel and the door panel was not straight. I reached over to see if it was loose and when I grabbed it, the panel fell off on the track. I went around a couple times under yellow and then I was black flagged because I had no door skin. I stopped at an official and tried to tell him my nerf bar and roll cage were in tact and it was not against the rules for a panel to fall off the car. Another official came to my car with my door skin and would not give me the panel so I could put it on the inside of my car they just kept telling me to get off the track. This is what the rule says... "Every panel must be attached to the car at the start of the event." NOWHERE in the rules for my class does it say that if ANY panel of the car comes off that it is required to leave the track! I went into the control tower after the race and informed them off the rules and they said, and I quote "it does not matter what the rules say, thats just the way we do it". SO I GOT BONED AGAIN....... I needed to beat 2 cars that night and I was leading both of them as planned but, instead got black flagged off the track. If that was not enough, not only did I get black flagged out of the race but, the finishing order also put me behind the 2 cars that crashed in front of me because they reverted back to the lap before. Even though I drove out of the accident, I still got scored behind them. It was a racing accident and I dont blame the car that spun in the first place but when the officials constantly make bad calls like this, how are we supposed to race with a clear head trying to stay away from anyone else so something like this does not happen??? This was a BAD CALL and I got the short end of it in 2ways....
