Last night was the first time I ever saw a dirt track race that had only 3 cars in it. The Mod Lite class is a new class and is trying to get particapants but at this early point in the season there are not many. 3 cars are all that showed up last night and they let them race. I read the track rules and found nothing about how many cars are reqired to make a class but I did find this rule that would apply, "section 6, line 29, promoter or track operater may run any type of race program". so there you have it. In the future I hope there will be more mod lites but until then, as a fan, I don't want to see a race that has only three cars start and as last nights race went, only 2 cars finished.
i wanted to run a mod lite this year but my grandpa talked to a guy and asked how much it would cost just to get started in the class. he said just a simple mod lite with none of the good parts in it would be around $18,000. i think right now because money is tight for some people it's hard for them to get a car together so maybe as time goes on the class will get bigger car counts
